About Me...

I believe that living a life aligned with one's passions, gifts and dreams is a radical act. It calls you to live fully, bravely and with conscious purpose to be all that you can. My coaching builds on who you already are. I take you to a higher level of achievement and greater authenticity with your life purpose, guiding and encouraging you beyond the barriers that are holding you back.

I bring to our coaching relationship nearly 40 years of growth work in leadership, spiritual practices, bodywork, individual and group work and facilitation. I've worked in public policy, social work, organizational development and in grass roots community activism.

I joyfully bring to Life Coaching my rich experience from a diverse working life as:

  • Director of many organizations
  • Advisor to governments
  • Public Speaker
  • Facilitator and consultant in organizational development
  • Social worker, therapist, and community volunteer
  • Body worker and healer
  • Attentive learner of how individuals and systems evolve

Among the awards I've received as a result of my passions for change are the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for work in HIV and the 2005 Red Ribbon Award of The Canadian Association for HIV Research.

Personally speaking....:

Born in England, I moved to Canada 33 years ago. I am married to my partner Chen from Taiwan. My life is about living my truth powerfully and stretching into possibilities.

I cherish friendships as family, and am passionate about health, art and cultures, and social justice. Personal growth is paramount in my life. I believe we are now in a period of wonderful change on the planet when new ideas are breaking down old paradigms that no longer hold value. My work and life is directed toward liberating potential, personally defined success and learning ways to be a responsible steward of our resources.

I'm a man with a zest for discovery, a love of the human spirit, an insatiable appetite for being taught by others through their life stories and undaunted about my commitment to raising human consciousness.

  • Go Ahead, Choose the Best Blueberries and the Best of Life

I just ate the biggest, juiciest best blueberry in the colander.  Perfect ripeness, juicy deliciousness, everything you want in blueberries.  This is notable because when I am with my family of choice in San Francisco I rarely, if ever, get “that” blueberry or even any of its close cousins.  Nine year-old Ariana LOVES blueberries and with the enthusiasm she the displays for everything she loves and enjoys she pulls the bowl of fresh washed berries over close to her at the breakfast and, berry by berry, finds the best this batch of blueberries has to offer.  She revels in e ...

  • We All Need Support

I am so aware these days of the need we all have for help and support in living our lives.  It is so sad that men in our culture are taught to tough it out, to go it alone, to never ask for directions, if you will. Life is too complicated to do alone, I believe. I have seen some men lately who come to coaching with a sense of defeat, They feel badly that they couldn't figure life out by themselves, and almost see hiring a coach as an admission of failure! I quickly reframe it for them as a victory. I say "Congratulations, you have just figured out one of the best kept secrets of life. Ha ...
