International Gay Coaches Conference 2012 set for
May 4-6, Easton Mountain Retreat Center – Upstate New York
Global conference is open to gay men who are coaches or in other helping professions
The first-ever International Gay Coaches Conference, hosted by the Gay Coaches Alliance (GCA), will be held May 4-6 at the beautiful Easton Mountain Retreat Center for Gay Spirituality, near Albany, NY. Conference details and registration are available at www.thegaycoaches.com
The transformative weekend is designed to help gay men who are coaches to improve their skills, build stronger practices and join a growing global community of others who as gay men know the transformative power of coaching. The conference will also be ideal for gay men who do similar “heart-centered” work – psychotherapists, counselors, social workers, educators, clergy, consultants, non-profit organization leaders, sacred intimates, etc. – who are interested in learning coaching skills to incorporate into their practices.
Conference sessions announced thus far include:
- Build-Your-Business Bootcamp (optional pre-conference session, May 3-4
- Working Smart with Time to Spare
- “What’s Your Sign, Baby?” or Assessments: How They Can Help You, Your Practice, and Your Clients
- Now That’s a Great Idea! – A Forum on Ways to Promote and Market Your Business
- 7 1/2 Essential Questions Your Website Must Answer (. . . if you want clients!)
- What is Unique about Coaching Gay Men?
- Create Your Own Marketing Video
- The Body as a Path to Deeper Coaching (optional post-conference session May 6-7)
Conference agenda content continues to evolve and grow; check the GCA website www.thegaycoaches.com for latest additions and sign up for conference updates via email. “This is a great opportunity for gay coaches to be with other gay coaches in community,” said Harry Faddis, a GCA founder. “This conference is also an opportunity for gay men who are not currently coaches to explore coaching as a new form of work as well as create co-leadership projects between those who coach and those who are in other developmental or healing fields.” The Gay Coaches Alliance welcomes choice, the magazine of professional coaching, as a sponsor of International Gay Coaches Conference.
About the Gay Coaches Alliance
The Gay Coaches Alliance formed in 2008 and has a three-part mission – to promote the field of coaching, especially for gay men to find a gay coach; to support individual gay coaches to develop and sustain successful practices; and, to form a global community to develop a greater presence of gay coaches in the world. The GCA provides its members with support and developmental offerings that include a monthly professional development and networking teleconference. The GCA’s website www.thegaycoaches.com offers an active developmental forum for member coaches. Professional coaches who are members from throughout North America, Europe and Australia are listed in the GCA’s growing online directory, which serves as a free resource for gay men who want to work with a professional coach who also is gay.
